Trox Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 15, 2026

đź”’ Our Unbreakable Promise: None of your Trox data ever leaves your personal device. No exceptions.

Introduction

Trox is built for one purpose: to help you plan your days, remember small moments, and keep track of what matters to you, without sacrificing your privacy. Unlike most apps that rely on cloud storage and user data tracking to operate, Trox is designed to run 100% on your device, with no need for a server connection.

This policy explains exactly what (if anything) we do with your data, how the app operates without collecting your information, and what control you have over your content. We operate under the global privacy principle of data minimization — in our case, that means we minimize our data collection to zero.

By using Trox, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy. Since we never collect any of your personal information, the only terms you agree to are that the Trox team holds no liability for data loss on your personal device, as outlined later in this policy.

Plain English Privacy Guarantee

We know legal documents can be confusing, so we’re laying out our core commitments in simple, unambiguous terms first:

  • âś… We will never upload your daily plans, reminder content, journal photos, or notes to any server, ever.
  • âś… We do not track how you use Trox, how often you open it, or what features you use. We have no idea how many people even use the app, let alone what you do with it.
  • âś… We will never sell, share, or license your data, because we do not have any of your data to share.
  • âś… Every piece of content you create in Trox is 100% owned by you, and exists only on the device you created it on.

Myth vs. Fact

To clear up any common misconceptions about how Trox handles your privacy:

❌ Myth

Trox stores my journal photos and daily plans on cloud servers so I can access them across devices.

âś… Fact

Trox has no cloud servers at all. Cross-device sync is not currently supported, and all content lives exclusively on your local device storage.

❌ Myth

Trox collects usage data to fix bugs and improve app features.

âś… Fact

We do not embed any analytics or crash-reporting tools in Trox. If you want to report a bug, you can email us voluntarily, but we will never collect bug data automatically from your device.

❌ Myth

If I contact support, the Trox team can access my journal entries to help troubleshoot issues.

âś… Fact

We have no way to access any content stored on your device through Trox. All support requests will be limited to general app functionality questions, with no access to your personal content.

❌ Myth

Trox sends my reminder data to third-party notification services to trigger alerts.

âś… Fact

All reminders are scheduled and triggered locally on your device using your operating system’s built-in notification framework. No reminder content is ever sent to external services.

What We Never Collect, Under Any Circumstances

There is no scenario where the Trox team will collect, store, or process any of the following information:

  • Text content of your daily plans, reminder notes, or journal entries
  • Photos you capture or import to create journal cards
  • Dates, times, or recurrence settings of your scheduled reminders
  • Usage data including app open frequency, feature usage, or time spent in the app
  • Device identifiers, IP addresses, location data, or any other information that could be used to identify you
  • Contact information, even if you email us for support (we will only use your email to respond to your specific request, and will never store it for marketing or tracking purposes)

We do not operate any user databases, cloud storage servers, or tracking infrastructure. There is no central location where Trox user data is stored, because no user data is ever collected.

What We Process (Only On Your Device)

All Trox functionality runs locally on your device, with no external data transmission. The only processing that occurs happens entirely on your hardware, and includes:

đź“… Daily Plan & Reminder Processing

When you create a daily plan or set a reminder, the content and time settings are saved directly to your device’s local storage. When your scheduled reminder time arrives, your operating system’s local notification framework triggers the alert directly on your device, with no data sent to external servers. You will only ever receive notifications that you have explicitly created yourself.

📸 Journal Card Processing

When you capture or import a photo to create a journal card, the image is saved only to Trox’s local storage sandbox on your device. The app will never copy the photo to your system album, upload it to external services, or share it with third parties unless you explicitly choose to export the content yourself.

📝 Record Browsing & Note Editing

When you browse your past records or edit existing notes, all changes are saved and read directly from your local device storage. No usage data related to your browsing or editing activity is logged or transmitted.

Permission Explanations

Trox only requests permissions that are strictly necessary for the features you choose to use. You can revoke any permission at any time in your device’s system settings, with no impact to core app functionality beyond the specific feature tied to that permission:

đź”” Notification Permission

Requested only when you first set a reminder, this permission allows Trox to trigger local alerts at the times you specify. We will never use this permission to send marketing, promotional, or non-user-initiated notifications of any kind. If you revoke this permission, you will still be able to create and view daily plans, you just will not receive time-based alerts.

🖼️ Photo/Storage Permission

Requested only when you choose to import an existing photo from your device’s gallery to create a journal card. This permission only grants access to the specific photo you select, and we will never scan or access your full photo library without your explicit action. If you revoke this permission, you will still be able to use all daily planning and reminder features, you just will not be able to import existing photos for journal cards.

đź“· Camera Permission

Requested only when you choose to capture a new photo directly within Trox to create a journal card. Photos captured with this permission are only saved to Trox’s local storage, and will not be added to your system photo album unless you explicitly choose to export them. If you revoke this permission, you can still import existing photos (if you grant storage permission) or use the app without journal card functionality.

No Third-Party Snooping

Trox does not embed any third-party software development kits (SDKs), advertising tools, tracking scripts, or analytics platforms. The app will never initiate an outgoing connection to an external server unless you explicitly tap a link to our official website or support email within the app’s settings menu.

We do not partner with any data brokers, advertising networks, or analytics providers. There is no way for third parties to access your Trox content through our app, because we have no access to it ourselves.

Your Data Ownership & Control

You retain 100% full ownership of all content you create within Trox. Since all content is stored exclusively on your device, you have complete control over how it is used:

  • You can edit, delete, or export individual entries at any time directly within the app. All exports are processed locally on your device, with no data sent to external servers.
  • You can delete all of your Trox data at any time by uninstalling the app, or by using the "Clear All Data" function in the app’s settings. Once deleted, there is no way to recover the content, as we do not store any backups.
  • You are not required to create an account, provide any personal information, or connect to the internet to use any core Trox functionality.

Important Note: Since we do not store any copies of your Trox data, we cannot help you recover content if your device is lost, stolen, damaged, or if you accidentally delete the app. We strongly recommend you regularly back up your entire device through your operating system’s built-in backup tool to protect your content.

Third-Party Backup Services

If you choose to enable your operating system’s automatic cloud backup feature (e.g. iCloud Backup, Google One Backup), your Trox app data may be included in the backups your device sends to your operating system provider. This backup process is controlled entirely by your device’s manufacturer, and is subject to that provider’s separate privacy policy. The Trox team has no access to, or control over, backups stored by your operating system provider.
